For over 30 years, Deborah Strauss and Jeff Warschauer have been at the forefront of the international klezmer and Yiddish music scene. They are renowned worldwide for their depth of experience and knowledge, and for their innovative performances, residencies and workshops. But above all, they are beloved as individuals and as a couple for their ability to inspire and empower people of every age, background and ability.

The duo, who reside in Brooklyn, New York, will be on the West Coast for 2 weeks of performances and workshops in October beginning with the annual KlezCalYid Fest in Berkeley CA and then visiting Washington State.

Jeff is Cantor at Congregation Or Chadash in Flemington, NJ. He is a Founding Artistic Director of KlezKanada, and teaches at Columbia University and the Jewish Theological Seminary.

Deborah is a highly regarded Yiddish dancer and award-winning educator who taught for 20 years at Yiddish cultural schools in New York City. She is Yiddish Culture Organizer for Zol Zayn Yidish, a new Workers Circle initiative for adults 60 and beyond, and is co-coordinator of the instrumental program at Yiddish New York. Deborah is the 2024 recipient of the prestigious Adrienne Cooper Dreaming in Yiddish Award.

Back to the Day-to-Day Rhythms of Renewal

Sunday, October 25, 2026

The High Holidays ask a lot of us — deep reflection, long services, big questions about who we want to be. But what happens when the Shofar's last note fades and we're back to carpools, inboxes, and everyday routines? This small-group learning session, hosted in homes across our community, invites us to explore how we carry the insight and intention of the holidays into the ordinary rhythms of the year.

No prior knowledge is needed, just curiosity about how community and routine can keep us grounded all year long.

Join Limmud Seattle on Sunday, October 25th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm (Zoom meeting from 7:00-8:00).

We have hosts in Greenlake Seattle, Northeast Seattle, West Seattle/Burien, Madrona/Central District Seattle, South Seattle, Bellevue, Port Townsend, and Camano Island.  We are also excited to offer a virtual salon for those who are unable to join us in person.

Please contact us at Limmud Seattle with questions or scholarship requests. Send Email
